Frequently asked questions about disc golf courses

Disc golf is a sport that is growing every year. For those not too familiar with the sport, here are some common questions and answers about disc golf courses.

A disc golf course consists of a series of holes, usually 9 or 18, with each hole having an ejection point and a target basket. Players throw their discs from the throwing area and try to reach the target basket with as few throws as possible. The length and difficulty of the course varies depending on the venue.

Summary

  1. A disc golf course has ejection points and target baskets.
  2. The aim is to use as few throws as possible.
  3. The characteristics of the course vary depending on the venue.

When playing disc golf, it is important to respect nature and the course. Pick up after yourself and keep it clean. Be aware of other players and give them enough space when playing. Practice good etiquette and wait for your turn to throw. Remember that disc golf is a sport based on fair play and respect.

Summary

  1. Respect nature and keep the track clean.
  2. Be aware of other players and give them space
  3. For good etiquette and fair play principles during the game.

In disc golf, there are different courses with different levels of difficulty depending on the player's skill. At Ale Discgolf Center there are white, yellow and blue courses. If you are new to disc golf, you should consider the following when choosing a course:

  1. Courses with fewer holes: When choosing a course, it is best to choose the one with fewer holes. This allows you to build confidence and enjoy the round without feeling overwhelmed.
  2. Clear signage: Most beginner courses have intuitive and clear signs at each teeing ground to guide the player, especially beginners, through the course. The signs tell you everything you need to know about the course.
  3. Practicing throws: Many facilities offer a practice area, or learning area, where beginners can practice their throws without the pressure of the main court. This area usually has simple baskets and open space for experimentation.

This of course depends on how fast you are, your skill level and the size of your party. A rule of thumb, however, is that it takes between 2-3 hours to play a full round on an 18-hole course.

Like an 18-hole round, much depends on the size of your party, your skill level and how fast you are. But usually you can expect 9 holes of disc golf to take between 1-2 hours.

You may not do this on a disc golf course:
  1. Stand in the line of sight of the player throwing the ball.
  2. You may not stand on the tee when another player throws the ball
  3. You must not throw if there is a risk of hitting other people on the track.
  4. You may only throw when it is your turn.
